I apologise in advance if this isn't the right place to post this and if it's a bit all over the place.
At least to me, it seems like quite a lot of people have tutors down south in Vic and Nsw?
Where I live (FNQ), having a tutor seems really rare. I've only ever known one person who has received private tutoring and they got an OP 2 recently. My school, though they say that they're a well performing school academically (oof, they're a bit pretentious..), are pretty much average. The median OP has been around 10. Only a good handful of senior teachers (around 5..) understand the ATAR system well and have said that other teachers don't seem to be doing too well. So, next year, I will most likely get a teacher who slacks off too much and falls behind. It seems like to do well (up here in QLD at least), is to hit the jackpot in finding a great private tutor or study 7+ hours a day after school.
In saying this, should I get a private tutor IF I ever manage to find one and are they really a huge benefit?
Are my chances of a good atar gone, or can I get by with my subjects w/o a tutor well? Can I do well with only self study?
