Personally, I'd make mine a persuasive piece that is less formal. But it depends on your teacher's SAC instructions.

Is your's on an issue or on a text?

It's an issue based on a text. I'm writing about the unjust treatment and perception of asylum seekers and I'm including bits from 'the rugmaker'

Yeah, then probably expository would be a better style for this type of oral :)
