A Valid Suggestion?

Just thinking, would it be a good idea for past vce students to be able to post they're "words of wisdom" and share their experiences with people moving into the vce system  in a new thread? Just an idea

I think that's a great idea, especially since so many FSNers have done so amazingly in VCE.
Us 08s can use all the advice we can get.

We should have a general one (on vce in general) and then sub ones for each individual subject

Another idea that has come to mind, a dedicated section could be created for people to upload their notes/revision papers for certain subjects.

That will come via a disparate system, i.e. people won't upload their notes to the forum but to a separate notes system, dedicated purely for that purpose.

disparate means not equal to. I think you meant "separate" or "stand-alone".

Yeah, it means 'dissimilar, unlike'. Therefore the notes system will be 'dissimilar, unlike' to the forums. Separate works too

when you say disparate system, do you mean rapidshare or somewhere similiar?. Sorry I'm not too knowledgable on these things

Obviously they can't say. But I'd think if it was rapidshare, it'd be available already. It's all hush-hush atm.

Sorry, disparate was probably the wrong word. I used it to indicate that we wouldn't be using the forums as a way of storing/retrieving notes but would have a separate system that better fulfills its purpose.

I think it would be very helpful to have a sub-forum on
                                                                           -VCE in context -talk about alternative options for getting where you want to go, like "pathways" and some of the points in that wonderful post by Lilou on BOS
                                                                 -different ways to approach study, how much study           
                                                                              to do
                                                                   
                                                                 -ENTER optimisation [though there is somewhat of a                                     
                                                                          lack of consensus regarding this]  Include a plea to people to consider carefully all three Englishes before choosing.
                                                                  -the nuts and bolts of scores, truth about scaling, etc.

   I know there's the VCE section, but that's more general, and people might greatly benefit from a piece of information Coblin or another such well informed member might tell them
