I got a JCU med interview offer. But I'm majorly torn  Like sure I'll do the interview and all and medicine is my dream (the usual) but 6 years, so far away... and the weather is SO hot! I'll really have to weigh this up if I do get a place offered.

^If you're in that sort of situation, I'd say go through with the medicine degree first (even if it's interstate), and if you can't see yourself pursuing it then you can transfer into another course. It's a much easier pathway than going through with a science/biomedical degree first, and then battling for post-grad spots. The weather over in Townsville shouldn't cause that much concern and you can still come back to Melbourne during the holidays (as many interstate students do).

the way i see it, i will do anything to be able to do medicine. i did get an offer and i will definitely go. Not only is it my only option, but it is for me an excellent option.

there are second round interview offers as well, so if you get a gun ATAR (which you might, considering your methods ss), you may still get offered a place at JCU. dont fret

No, but I wouldn't consider it to be out of the range. I have friends with 97.xx who got CSP offers for JCU med in my year.

You need to get OP1 (99 ATAR), but you can get bonus points (maximum 2 points for doing LOTE in VCE, maximum 2 points for doing specialist maths in VCE and maximum 1 point for doing university enhancement subject). So if you do a LOTE and specialist maths, you can get 95 ATAR
