Melbourne High School year 10 entrance exam :)))))

Hey guys I am new to the forum so I just wanted to say hi 
Anyways, recently I took the mhs exam for the year 9 entry, and like all lazy teenagers, I didn't give a damn about the exam. I just wanted to get into Suzanne Cory (bad decision). So I put Suzanne Cory as my first preference, didn't study (everyone told me no superiors and you would make it in) and got 3 superiors (without studying). Anyways I got what I wanted, and got into Cory. I actually wasn't happy as I thought I was going to be My four best mates made it into mhs, and I was stuck at Cory. Anyways, I rejected Cory as I started to grow hatred for the school (i donno y) and I was REALLY and I emphasize on REALLY depressed that I didn't make it in to mhs. So, I made a vow to myself, next year it's either mhs, john monash or the west gate bridge (lol jokes). I just wanted to ask what I have to study, how many people to expect on taking the exam and what to expect in the interview. I'm in Year 9 this year and took the JMSS test and got in. I have my take on it here: A Year 9's guide to the John Monash Science School Test
I'd say it's pretty handy and has everything covered from what to study as well as the interview.. give me a pm if you need help in regards to the JMSS test!

I hear that there's about 300 people try out for MHS test for Year 10 entry? Not too sure about it but on their website they say they accept 28 people minimum. Generally it's sport stars/musicians that try out but my friend who had a love for photography tried out and got in this year for Year 9

Though don't try out because it's a 'selective' school or because your mates go there. Go there if they support your goals and meet your needs. I rejected MHS in Year 8 to go to JMSS and that was because I wanted to find people that were around me age group who shared my passion in science and I felt that was a major selling point for me as well as travel. Also I knew what my strengths were (Maths/Science) and by going to JMSS, I felt that I would benefit greatly from JMSS than my old school that allowed people to prosper equally in different areas.
