The question only makes sense if you compare the same courses, ie. Monash Science vs UoM Science, Monash Arts vs UoM Arts, etc.

If you start comparing Monash MBBS or LLB or B.Eng to any undergrad in UoM, you're going to find that UoM will appear "easier" to pass.

OP, each faculty sets relevant exams for their subjects. So it's near impossible to suggest that all courses at Monash are harder than anywhere else. Generally, Monash and Melbourne will be about the same, otherwise employers would notice something's up, less students would get employed from that uni and professors would realise this and make it harder to graduate. So there's a feedback loop that ensures they stay about the same. Also, advent of the Melb model has no effect on this. Whatever melbourne want to call their degrees, a lawyer still needs to know the same things, a doctor still needs to know the same things as they did 10 years ago and a professor recognises this. They're world leaders in their fields, not idiots.
