Dynamics Question II

A train of mass 5 tonne travels up a slope 1 in 50. The resistance to motion is 30N per tonne. Find the tractive force exerted by the engine if the acceleration is 0.7 m/s^2.

I know that you have to resolve to the plane. and you get p(tractive force) - 150(resistance of train) -5000sin(theta)=5000x0.7

where does the 5000sin(theta come from) is it the normal force?

Cheers.

Hope this solves your problem
(once you resolve the weight force, it is not taken into account)
