Rudd Govt to impose low SES quotas on Uni admission

I oppose completely an imposition by Government of quotas of any kind on universities. What the Govt is trying to impose is not a system of admission based on merit, but based on who your parents are.

Yes when I read the original article in the newspaper I was completely opposed to it too.

It's like in some labour markets when employers deliberately set a quota of a minimum amount of women in their organisation.
Oppose it.

It's their choice though - perhaps their approach to the triple bottom line?

Somewhat distinct from the government forcing someone to do something with absolutely no clear benefit.
