okay so i was entering my details and got this message,

Error, email address cannot contain lowercase characters [a-z]!
Please re-enter the email address

wtfudge? what if your email address only has lowercase characters?

Just write it in cap-locks (the whole email address). It still works. I had to do that also.

i dont even remember being asked about that haha, but its not gonna harm (for lack of better word) me in terms of getting accommodation (at ANU) is it?

There was a question that asked if you wanted information about accommodation. It won't harm your chances saying no
