Should I do Specialist Maths? STAMP Student in Year 11

I have no idea whether I am supposed to say it here but.. I am in Year 11 and I am doing Methods, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and English. My problem is that I am in a program called STAMP which is an accelerated program for only selected people who does the entrance exam for it to be in the program. And I got in. Also I am in the maths and science stream.

So my subjects are fixed throughout the 3 years.. and in year 12, I have Specialist Units 3&4 without doing Units 1&2. So that means I will be doing 3&4 without having any knowledge on 1&2. Is that dangerous? Like not doing units 1&2 and just go ahead with it. My parents are telling me to drop it but I feel that this subject is the only one that might bring up my ATAR score by getting a good study score. The teachers are telling me that I should do it because I would have already done Methods which will help me in Specialist 3&4.

Please if anyone out there who can really help me and maybe give me advice on what should I do.

I think if you're confident with and like your maths, Spesh is a good choice! You can catch up on what you've missed on the summer break (if you're keen), and if you manage to get a SS of 38-39+ raw it'll scale into something you can't get with most of your other subjects (ie. 50+ after scaling!). Give it a go

I did indeed do Specialist. Probably the only subject I really enjoyed and it made my year 12 experience so much better
