Technically you're not meant to attend lectures you're not enrolled in for capacity reasons. The lecture theater can only safely (and i guess legally with OH&S ?) hold a certain number of people. In first year biology, we had one of the biggest theaters on campus but there were heaps of people sitting near doors, on steps, in the aisles because people who weren't assigned to the better spot showed up to it. Lecture attendance usually dramatically drops off about half way through semester though.
(

Huh, I suppose I got away with it because my bio1011 and 1022 lectures were in South 1, so there were always plenty of free seats

Mine in South 1 were more or less over capacity. There were a few seats that were easily accessible, some were like 5 deep in a row, with people on either end to get to it, so next to impossible.

It might have just been the times that year. I remember i got allocated into the really choice time, the other was a really shitty one. It actually got pretty damn bad, like, if there was a fire, people were blocking all the aisles and doors and stuff. They even threatened to check I.D's or timetables at the door, i dont know how they'd manage that but hey they said it.

Was this a couple of years ago? I know that enrolment was still very high for last year, but the faculty probably lucked out with their time allocations; I went to different lecture periods depending on what sort of week I had, and numbers were pretty much consistent between streams. like a few posters before, how am I able to do the unit enrolment if I have yet to complete the HECS part (as I am getting a tfn sooner/later) ? Or on the enrolment day, will they just allow me to open up the unit enrolment part and I can proceed on the day?

This was a question that was asked at my course info session day and those facing this dilemma were told to choose the pay upfront button instead of what you would normally choose. But when you get your tfn you just have to change it from pay upfront to the other option. Also I think this has to be done before the census date otherwise you might incur some additional charges.

There's only one in Science, but there's two in Engineering. The Engineering ones go in more depth into applications of it and such, the Science one focuses more on the mathematics of the situation given.
Science Unit:
MTH3360 - Fluid dynamics
Engineering Units:
MEC2404 - Fluid mechanics I
MEC3451 - Fluid mechanics II

EDIT: Coincidentally this is post number 3360, the number code for the maths unit mentioned :P

Mildly off-topic but do you realise how exciting it is to have another person doing biomed here? I can, like, give advice and shit!

I agree, this is absolutely awesome. Also, since we're doing the same double, it just makes it all that more excited!
