Nah kidding, my parents didn't really care. Was a personal choice. They just preferred if I got something with some decent job security though, but from there they said it's best to just choose something I'd enjoy as well.

My parents wishes:

1.  Anything that you want and enjoy.¹
2.  Earn enough money to be able to marry a supermodel and give us plenty of grandchildren.

¹That also generates a stable² income.
²Definition of stable: You must live in a Beverly Hills mansion and drive at least 7 sports cars, one for each day of the week.

Have a good successful career with "status" (i.e. High Court judge, world-class neurosurgeon, head of NASA etc.) (fail: I like languages which will get me exactly nowhere)
