Every time September 1 comes around I mourn that the delicious winter of cosy blankets and easy exercise and cuddly snuggling and hot soup is over.

Coming up next: burning heat, harsh blinding brightness, inability to exercise, sleepless nights, and constant sticky sweat.  Woooooooo.

But also: ice-cream, literally any cold dessert, sunshine in the parks with an occasional cold breeze, smell of flowers, lots and lots of birds flying, Halloween, Christmas, BOXING DAY, and with a little bit of luck maybe even shopping with your friends at the end of the year!

Ngl, I pretty much only eat ice-cream in winter, because eating ice-cream in summer means leaving the house to go get ice-cream. Sunshine in the park means sunburns (doesn't matter how much sunscreen I lather on - lather being an apt description of how much I apply lol), and honestly have never noticed a smell from flowers? Also unsure why birds is anything other than just a thing. Halloween is this thing that I'm confused why we celebrate and never cared for. Also, boxing day is the literal worst, I have a fear of crowds so large you can't escape, and that's all BD is D:

... I mean, yeah, sorry to royally and completely shut down everything you seem to love about the summer, but this is definitely not one for me. . Am curious to hear why you enjoy all of these things when I don't, though?

Only bonus for me in summer is sitting on the porch with a nice cold beer in hand - but something something y'all too young for that

I think there are things I like about all seasons and all months.  Right now, I look forward to seeing green leaves re-appear (which has already been happening) and a variety of flowers (which again has already been happening) and days continuing to get longer.  A bit warmer would suit my Melbourne tastes fine - more of the weather we had on the weekend, perhaps.  In summer time walking within an hour of sunset is not only usually cooler, but there's also a much greater chance of seeing wildlife somewhere like the Dandenong Ranges.

But it also just varies from day to day and year to year - I can remember say back to back Australian Opens where one started with four 40+ days, and the next started with what felt like early spring.  I just wait to see what we get and make the best of it - because it's not like I can change it...

I have brown skin so I have never really had sunburns!

BAHAHA I live in a neighbourhood with a lot of birds and flowers and it's full of nature, so I enjoy seeing new species come and go at different seasons. Also, almost all my neighbours have a lot of flowers in their lawn so it's nice to see some colour whenever I go on walks and come back from school.

Halloween is this thing that I'm confused why we celebrate and never cared for. Also, boxing day is the literal worst, I have a fear of crowds so large you can't escape, and that's all BD is D:
I don't like the celebrating part of halloween and I've never celebrated it, but I enjoy seeing decorations out on people's lawns. I realise that I sound like some stalker creep who just sits outside people's houses all day.

To be honest, I do prefer Winter and Autumn climate over Summer, but I like change ahahaha  ;D

It was rather pleasant today in Melbourne, I hope everyone (including those of us stuck in Metro Melbourne) made use of the good weather today! 🥰

Rain today!! Hooray for weather breaks :D
(I don't mind heat, but yesterday the humidity + heat combo was gross)
