75% WAM

Is a WAM of 75% too hard? Would it require intense study every night (such as might be required in the lead up to VCE exams), or is it achievable with regular but average study? This is for engineering and biomedicine.

Depends on you but I think 75% can be achieved with regular/average study. However, in uni, cramming before exams is pretty common and a lot of people get 80%+ from just doing that.

Most people cram before exams though, and some get really good results just from cramming.

VCE is more work than first year uni. The biggest challenge with first year uni is learning how to motivate yourself, rather than needing a teacher on your back making sure you hand stuff in. No-one's going to be checking on you to see if you've been doing the readings or summarising each chapter dilligently like your tutor suggested, or even if you've actually been attending class. It's on you to take responsibility for yourself. If you can do that, you've do fine in first year, no sweat. Citations and stuff are a bit of a mindfuck at first too, but you'll get pretty efficient at it after a couple of assignments.

Actually, it depends where your goal posts are.

75% is a lot harder to achieve and maintain in university compared to High School. However, a good score is less relevant in university than it is in high school.

I reckon to get above 75% is the same as getting a study score of 40 in VCE.
If you can do that, then you can probably maintain a 75% - but do know, it is a tiny bit harder.

Pretty much all self study lol seriously the best teacher in uni is yourself, lecturers/tutors are only eventually there to guide you and help you; each person's method of study is different and the way to approach different units/courses are also different, you'll eventually get the hang of it. Personally I haven't done a single practice question for my maths major since year 12, it's all been reading, reading and more reading, other courses may differ completely.

75% is either easy or hard to get, depending on your work habits and things like that. Half the fight is simply showing up to things and not dropping easy marks. I wouldn't say its exactly a walk in the park though, you still need to work fairly hard. If you really need to boost your average, you could take an easy elective that you're interested in. I did this.
