I have got 6 days to cram for international, exam timetable screwed me over so badly.

I hear the essay will be on globalisation and internationalism ? if so, what situations should I attempt to cover regarding the two ?

Thanks

just go through the study design. there are four basic questions they could ask for the essay question, and are all straight from the study design (as the cheif examiner has said). All the questions will be variants on, or combinations of;

1) something about globalisation/internationalism being positive/negative forces
2) something about the UN, World Bank, IMF, WTO being positive/negative forces
3) something about how globalisation/internationalism has influenced those five dot points (human rights and refugees, international trade, environment, technology and communications, politics)
4) something about how globalistaion/internationalism has affected state soveriengty

on point 2), could they (or rather are they likely to) ask a question specifically on say the WTO, IMF etc, or would they allow you to chose???? same for point 3).

I can't see them doing that. In past years they have always grouped those five dot points together, and the chief examiner said that we shouldn't even bother studying the IMF, WB and WTO seperately; think of them as one united driver of globalisation for the exam.

Yes, the essay question is 100% on globalisation/internationalism, if it is not you can sue VCAA.

I wouldn't be too sure on that, previous years have specified which organization. 06 = WB; 07 = IMF; 08 = WTO
note: am talking about short answer, er and essay won't specify (I hope :P )

I did OK, nothing special. Considering I did about an hour of study I can't complain. I struggled with the 10 mark question on international terrorism and the military power in the asia-pacific region lol

It was about the positive aspects of globalisation wasn't it?
