i didn't use them last year, as the three films you will study will differ dramatically school to school, they tend to detail the media influence topic but can only give broad examples (from other films) on how to write for the other two topics. may be of some use to other students, but i had a look at checkpoints last year and it didn't seem overly useful. could be worth borrowing notes from high-achieving last year students from your school. they are really only worth it for getting examples for the sacs, as there is not much to the actual course in terms of theory.

however, if you find during the year you are struggling with writing for the sacs or exam, in the proper format for media, then they could be of good use. the key to doing well in media is knowing your texts, and writing for media, using correct terminology and proper format. i'll post a topic later on about writing for media.

your school library may have them too.

I had them last year and didn't use them... in fact I don't even think I opened the book.
