Bachelor of Education (primary) up to year 10 or arts/secondary education

Hey everyone.
I've wanted to do teaching now for about 3 1/2 years so I'm starting to look at which unis would be best. (I am in year 10). I'm really close to deakin and know it has a good reputation, but was wondering if there is anyone out there who is currently undertaking the middle years strand of the Bachelor of Education (Primary)? Because I definitely know that I would like to do secondary, but just wanted to know what the employment prospects are for the secondary side of the middle years degree.

Ideally, I'd love to teach home economics, English or history. Suggestions  on whether the middle years strand or arts/secondary education degrees would help me achieve this would be much appreciated!
