Need ideas on phones!

Well like my phone broke yesterday and i'm using a crappy one for the time being while shopping for a new one, preferably a good one that i can use for a few years.

I've been checking out the N97, and wondering if i should get N97 or N97 mini.

Thoughts?

Both are around the same price ~450-500

pro: physical keyboard.

cons: lag, fkn major lag. screen randomly decides to freeze whenevr the hell it wants. heard quite a few stories where the touchscreen completely dies. interface is quite gay. 32gb internal awesome right?? no! put on ~300 songs and gg. speakers r pathetic.

there's warranty on it though? how much you get your n97 for? or was it plan

My friend's N97 also fucked up, had to wait like 4 weeks for nokia to repair it.

but seriously, everywhere you go whether it be parties/karaoke/etc you always see a stack of 5 or more on the table somewhere, i took someone elses home by accident one time :L

WHY get a Nokia? Nokia phones are way behind in the game these days, namely crappy processor, crappy ram, not touch screen. Runs the old generation operating system (Symbian), whereas all the new phones are using the Google OS 'Android'. Generally, Nokia is crap right now.

If you want a phone, Samsung Galaxy S, Sony Ericsson X10, HTC Desire, HTC Legend. Anything that is decent and runs the Android OS.

Android is the google OS, basically your phone will run with more functionality than the iPhone, more efficiently.

It's got an app store, they all have wifi and bluetooth, seamless google maps/gps/gmail/google contacts integration, facebook/twitter, etc. Pretty much every part of the phone has 3rd party software replacements, including the home-screen, keyboard, music player, etc. Browsing is ridiculously good, and your phone becomes the all-knowing overlord that does everything you need it to do. Google search anything from your phone anywhere, google maps anywhere to get to places, google google google google google google to google google google.

As opposed to, you know, lag with any other phone, including the iPhone 3G, or get apple'd with the iPhone 4.

My friend does phone reviews for loads of phones, he gets them sent to him, he does testing.. Writes a review.

I've played with all of the top of the range stuff.. The Galaxy S = Slow as shit. iPhone= Fail x22012389193139213891. X10=Really nice. Desire= Nice.

I would suggest the X10. (Android)
