Hi All,

So my school has released timetables and im looking to pick up a 5th subject for year 12
I’m already doing Eng, Legal, Further, and Psych….I would prefer to do a subject at school rather then via distance but my options are either PE, Chemistry or Media...with chem being the most favourable option of the three. However i haven't done 1&2...how hard is it? Has anyone done this??

Though Unit 3/4 covers a lot of areas that 1/2 doesn't, it's basic knowledge that is key to the concepts in 3/4 chem. Units 1/2 are just a brief overview but it teaches fundamental stuff that can be hard to understand at first, like stoichiometry, redox reactions, types of reactions, bonding, etc, so 1/2 gives you time to work this out so you can work more efficiently in Year 12. I would say it's doable with no prior knowledge though, just it will take a lot more time and effort.

I haven't done it myself so just going off my experience with units 1/2 and 3/4, so if you have a genuine interest in chemistry and are willing to work a lot harder for it, then go ahead. But it will definitely require a lot of time and work.
