Some suburbs have had their water advice updated, primarily in the north and southeast. Most eastern metropolitan suburbs appear to still be affected.
VicEmergency app says to flush taps for about 2 mins if your water has been fixed.

TO ENSURE YOUR WATER IS SAFE
If you live in an affected suburb, we advise you to bring water to a rolling boil before drinking, preparing beverages, washing and preparing food, preparing baby formula, brushing teeth and making ice until further notice.
Boil water in a kettle with an automatic cut-off or on the stove until it boils strongly, with a rapid stream of air-bubbles from the bottom of the kettle or pan.
Once you have boiled the water, allow it to cool.
You can store it in the fridge in clean, closed containers for drinking or food preparation – you do not need to boil it again.
Take care not to injure or scald yourself when you handle boiling water, especially around children.
Unboiled water can still be used for showering and bathing, flushing toilets, washing dishes and clothes and garden watering. Ensure you do not drink water when you are in the bath and take extra care when bathing infants.
Unboiled water can still be used to wash your hands
EMERGENCY DRINKING WATER IS AVAILABLE
If you can’t access boiled or bottled water, call our emergency hotline on 13 27 62.
Emergency drinking water is available at the following locations as these areas are still without power and can’t boil water:
Croydon North – Griff Hunt Reserve, 54 Lyons Road
Mount Evelyn – The Football Ground, 70 Tramway Road
Customers will need to bring your own container to fill up from the tankers.
Note: If you live in Ferntree Gully, which was previously on the list (and not in the quote above), the information so far has been a bit ambiguous. VicEmergency says it’s been the most recently fixed, but not sure what sources to trust at the moment.
EDIT: All Victorian suburbs’ water fixed about 4:30pm/ 5pm yesterday (30th August 2020). Recommendation is to flush taps for 2 mins to ensure none was left in your pipes and then can be used as normal again.
