im stuck on this question, i keep getting Fx=441N how is that possible if Fx and Fy add to 30x9.8??

This occurs because you are dealing with torques. The best method is to equate torques about about pivot Y, so

is negative as the slab is trying to pull the column out of the ground, Force Y acts to pull it into the ground and must therefore be acting down
