For 2014 it was released around the last week of Jan . Choose your programme based on the 2014 list-it is usually the same + - one or two pieces.

Generally there are a couple of "safe" pieces - either obvious depending on the instrument, or your teacher will know them.

Also, if a piece you've practised is off the list, you can simply apply to VCAA to still include it on your program anyway - my teacher told me that they generally accept pieces that used to be on the list. (I'm assuming they only take them off so that the examiners don't have to hear the same song over and over again)
