That's true. Actually, I am planning on competing in the IMO too if I get into JMSS, becos I got like High Distinctions for like the ICAS exams and once a High Distinction for the Australian Mathematics Competition. The thing is idek how to join the IMO LOL .
Synx, I feel like you are overly practical, (assembling an RC plane and wanting to construct a bloody fusion reaction required extreme science ability) and I feel like I am overly theoretical. We would be a remarkable pair of scientists if we get in.
I can barely do AIMO (once I solve these difficulty of math problems every day back in China). And I’m not too practical though as these ambitious projects (such as the fusion thing) are just on paper 🧻 and theoretical calculations. And I never got a chance to systematically learn how to make projects, I learn them on my own and I’m not very well. So for the most time I just do theoretical things just like you, and seems you did better (although I’m still ahead of standard curriculum)! I would like to learn year 12 math and science just like you, but my curiosity have not be satisfied since I don’t find a complete book for it.
With superior achievements for AMO and ICAS as well as super intelligence, no doubt you’ll get in. I have nothing to pick up my sleeves, no certificates, no great reports. If I got in, I guess I can recognize you by looking for the person with best academic abilities...
To be a real scientist, I think we need a PhD or something, and do research and contribute... that’ll be more than 10 years later. Let’s not consider this before we get in.
