Has anyone done this subject before? How is the workload and the likelihood of getting an H1 in it?

Workload is quite low. You have to workshop one piece during semester and submit the final thing at the end of semester with an extra page on why you wrote it the way you did (sort of like a statement of intention). I guess you also have to do tutorial readings, but that's like 30 minutes a week.

As for getting an H1, it's like every other creative writing subject; completely up to the discretion of your tutor. I workshopped two pieces because my tute was rather small and my tutor preferred one of them. I submitted the other one for my final assessment because I felt it was a more interesting constructed piece and her feedback was basically "I wanted to read the other one more, so I marked this down".

Shrug.

What is the difference b/w the subjects short fiction and creative writing? And is it necessary to do creative writing before short fiction? I saw that cw was listed in the recommended knowledge for short fiction but is it really important?
