Didn't do spec in VCE so I'm kinda interested in doing this subject, but does this unit need calculator? Because in monash some of their maths units are designed in a way that calculators are not needed.

Thank

cool, thanks for the answer.

With the weekly written assessment that I saw in the handbook, what's this?

Sorry for semi-hijecking this thread, i am also intereyed in taking up this subject as a breadth (as I hope it will help me in my 3rd year econometrics subject). However, i completed methods about 4 years ago and frankly cannot remembet much of it; so my question is how much assumed knowledge is there in calc 1?

Simply assignments/problem solving questions regarding topics you're learning in class. They aren't hard at all as you're workbook should be very helpful.

Everything from methods is assumed knowledge.

That said, you could re-learn methods in a day if you wanted to.

You can surely remember how to derive polynomials? Perhaps not log functions, but you should remember the basics. Just brush up on what you don't know and don't be scared to do it.

No calculators used or needed, you only need wolfram alpha and you're fine.

Freebie 20%. It's just 2-5 questions weekly which you have to submit, but you can do them at home, so everyone who cares about the subject gets 100%.

Further information here and here.
