I hope not :/ wouldn't want to get worse than my methods (though I didn't try as hard in methods last year)

Does anyone feel like their exam 2 marks are fluctuating? With my exam 1's, I feel like I can do decently on most company papers but with exam 2's, I only manage to get 65+ in the VCAA exams. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing...

I'd rather be in you situation than mine, since exam 2's are worth double exam 1's :P

I'm really bad at exam one because I'm careless, but I think I can survive exam 2..

Does that mean you'll have less focus on the VCAA exams? XD

totally, i'm adveraging about 70% (56/80) but as between that i've gotten 35/80 and then 78/80. And lol, it's not a good thing :(

What paper do you guys think is most similar in difficulty to the vcaa exam (yeah, i know this is probs in another thread). I reackon MAV is closest to the difficulty of a vcaa exam.

I reckon MAV specialist is surprisingly more challenging than MAV in methods for some reason. I mean, not cause of spesh being harder than methods, the gap of expected difficulty in contrast to other papers is smaller in spesh than in methods.

Just got 64/80 on an exam 2 and TEN of my lost marks were from stupid dumb mistakes. I desperately need tips on how to eliminate such mistakes, or I'm screwed.

Yea at the beginning of my marking I was fine, towards the end I screwed up, didn't read the question properly, and in MAV 2010, there's that question about the path of the particle..I honestly do not think I can write a paragraph like that about all it's speeds changing etc...
so it was kind of frustrating to see all my marks go like that when Iwas holding on so well.
Anyone find some MAV solutions dodgy?

IMO dumb mistakes ahve two causes

1. Your thinking process isn't right. Like when you see a certain word or problem, you don't think in the right way so you're bound to get it wrong. You have to instate the correct mental procedures in your head. E.g. when you the word "real" int he context of a polynomail equation, the concept of conjugate pairs should autoamtically come up in your head.

2. You aren't concentrating hard enough. Amount of focus you exact upon the exam is inversely proportional to the amount of stupid mistakes you make. And sometimes, you are simply too tired to focus properly.

LOl yeah, did yous ee theri massive two pargraph essay on the speed of the particle changin??? and in question one, they gave and extra solution (i think part c) and there were two muli-choices that were wrong (these mistakes were picked up by my spech teacher so it's not just me thinking they're wrong)
