term one, holidayshi all! i hope everybody is enjoying their break thus far
i can't believe i've already been on holidays for a week... i feel like I've been busy but also done nothing at the same time - anyone else?
if i'm being honest, I've found these holidays to be a tad stressful. my entire routine has gone out of wack, and not feeling the pressure of my school timetable just makes me 10x lazier. I've been letting myself sleep in, because this term really tired me out and i need to relax. but at the same time, waking up at 9/10 rather than 6/7 just makes me feel even more sleepy. then it takes me so much longer to actually get out of bed and start the day...
as a result I've been getting very little work done, which i think is understandable because if i went full work grind these holidays i'd be burnt out before term 2 even started. i'm honestly pretty content with just doing little tasks each day, but a small voice in the back of head refuses to switch off with the rest of my body. whenever i have a day that feels unproductive i find myself thinking that i won't get my work done in time, i'm gonna mess up my next sacs and fail vce, blah blah blah. which is very dumb.
so what I've been doing to combat my stress is to question these types of thoughts. what makes me think i won't get my work done? i can't remember a specific time where I've had important tasks overdue... and how is one unproductive day going to affect my overall score? taking days off is going to benefit me in the long run...
i think for the rest of the holidays i might take a slightly different approach towards my homework. i'm planning on blocking out certain days when i have nothing on and using that time to focus on just one subject to get it out of the way. I've just finished off my maths work, so i'm thinking i might get bio done tomorrow, chemistry done early next week, and English done late next week (yes i'm procrastinating english as per usual.)
generally i tend to break down my tasks more and complete smaller activities for at least three subjects each night, but this seems to work better during school time rather than on holidays...
anyways, that's all i have for today... i hope everyone enjoys the remainder of their holidays and has a happy easter if celebrating it!
