English exam viable study technique?

Hey guys, is it viable to memorise a framework, ~15 quotes for each section and how to analyse those quotes and just learn to tweak topic sentences and links to do well in the end of year exam? This is what I've been doing all of VCE and it's worked decently for me. I'm not going for too high of a score in English, and I was wondering if this is an okay study technique to do well with?

How do you guys plan on studying for the end of year exam (or how did you study for it)?
