anyone doing SL this year?

what textbook/resources are there out there? my teacher doesnt teach from a book. anybody recommend some textbooks to buy or something?

hey what school are you attending currently for Chinese? i got a 42 last year for chinese and i used a Chinese book which my school gave out to everyone. Its the Chinese Culture School in MHS, Glen Waverley SC and Mt. Waverley SC ones. They just hire out the campuses every saturday and sunday and teach Chinese for all levels. Umm its written by the teachers at the school so i assume you would have to ask someone who goes there?  Another good book to buy is the Unit 1/2 Essay book also sold from that same school. Reading essays and writing them according to the layout's in that textbook will improve your Chinese greatly.
I THINK theres a thornbury campus as well.

just a note the mt wav and glenny chinese cultural school is not the same even though they are both named 'xin jin shan'. the glenny one is much better. i went to both lol. i was the top of the class for the mt wav one but then when i went to glenny i was definitely not in the top 5 of even my class.

Lol serious? I was like at the bottom of my Chinese class last year at Mt Wav... that says a lot if the Mt Wav standard isn't that high But then again, there were only like 6 people in my class.

oh lol well i went to an afternoon class on sunday at glenny, and there were like 15 people all up anyway which was a mix of SLA and SL.
SO yeah, ive never been to the mt waverley one because i started Chinese School for unit 1 & 2 in Year 10 so yeah

I go to glenny as well~ and i find it so hard! Maybe because i suck at speaking in mando since i was brought up speaking canto.

I go to the one at Melbourne High, their textbooks are alright but I still reckon they're not enough

i just finished chinese....got a 43 and looked at my textbook a grand total of ZILCH for exams.
the textbooks don't have much in them, except for stuff to do with the oral...i had 4 textbooks.
just take notes.
write 100 essays.
you'll be fine.
