Biology: 40+, maybe? (hah, more like a 2)

Biology (actual): 45

Hey, better than I expected, lower than I hoped. Though if my prediction was off by 43 points, maybe I should be scared for maths subjects . . .
2018 - 2019 : Biology [45] Japanese SL [45] JLPT N2

Chemistry - 43
French - 35
Methods - 28
2017
Biology - 43
HHD - 40

Atar: 98.10

2018: pred/ (actual)
English Language - 42/ (43)
Chemistry - 43/ (43)
French - 35/ (40)
Methods - 28/ (33)
2017

I feel relatively neutral but kind of sad that I was close to 99, regardless I'm ecstatic about methods cause I was praying so hard for anything above 25 to get into any of my preferred courses.

raw predictions:
philosophy - 37 (2017 - got 36 :( )
english language - 34
french - 33
biology - 38
chemistry - 31
methods - 33

atar (according to the calc) - 92.15
i'm hoping for a 92 for biomed at monash, so i'd be pretty happy with these marks. tomorrow's the day we'll find out i guess. i'm seriously stressing and doubting myself though! good luck everyone :)

actual results:
philosophy - 36
english language - 32
french - 36
biology - 41!!
chemistry - 36
methods - 37!!

atar - 95.20...!!
still pinching myself. can't believe it. now i'm considering biomed at melbourne, which until yesterday i had barely thought about, because i was so sure it was impossible for me to get 95+ (i guess i lack self confidence). well done everyone! whether you're happy or disappointed, it was a tough year and we should all be feeling really proud!  :) <3
2017 - Philosophy [36]
2018 - English Language [32], Maths Methods [37], French [36], Biology [41], Chemistry [36]
ATAR: 95.20
2019 - Science or Biomed ??

Aaaaand results have landed!!

Quote from: My predictions
Literature - high 40s
Dance - mid 30s

Actual scores:

Literature - 50!! (Thought I was dreaming when I saw this!)
Dance - 31 (bit unfortunate, but I think it accurately reflects exactly how little work I put in for this subject).

Popped the scores (plus my 2017 one) into ATAR Calc to get a 69.35 ATAR. Fingers crossed that the number rises next year :p

VCE: Literature [50] Methods [50] Further [48] Chemistry [40] Biology [33]
2022: Bachelor of Science (Mathematical Economics) @ ANU

class of 2019 here! thought i'd have a go predicting my study scores + atar for next year, since it'd probably be a good way to set some goals and also have something to look back on next year.

predictions:
english: 32-36
further maths: 37-41 (i did methods 1/2 this year so i'm not really sure how i'll go, this is just a bit of a guess)
psychology: 38-42
music performance: 38-42
theatre studies: 37-41
dance: 36-40

atar: 84.15-92.65

i'm lucky that the courses that i wanna do don't really require a minimum atar, but i'd still really like to get high 80's, the low 90's would be amazing.

i already did business management this year and got a 39 ss, so i put that in for the calculations too :) guess i'll see next year how i go!
2018: Business Management [39]
2019: English, Music Performance (Solo), Theatre Studies, Dance, Further Maths, Psychology

Hey!!
It's not at all unusual to not really know what the scores mean when you haven't started VCE yet. Don't worry!
It's great to see that you've put thought into what you would like to study throughout year 11 and 12. If anything, I reckon it would be even more beneficial for you to set goals, rather than predictions! I think the latter breeds a lot of self-directed criticism, and when you're not using that to improve your studies or right your wrongs, it just means you're being a bit harsh on yourself!
Have you considered what University course you would like to do (if you are thinking of going onto tertiary study)? Looking at the "minimum" ATAR for that course and it's associated prerequisite subject study scores might give you some direction as for what goals to set!
If you don't really know what you want to use your ATAR for, I would begin thinking about that rather than the VCE  If you're really, really not sure, then I think you should aim to try your hardest and do your best! I get "aiming low" because there's a bit of fear of the unknown, but I think you should definitely aim high! Don't set a number and feel restricted by it, especially when you haven't even started yet. Just try your hardest, set some goal scores if your course of choice requires them, and enjoy the present!! Xx

Best of luck!!

That's great!! Make sure you look into prerequisite subjects and the likes too. From the sound of it, you are well on your way to your dream course!
If you are experiencing things that make sitting tests or studying difficult, I highly recommend that you talk to your school about alternate arrangements. You can sit your SACs and exams in a different room, have more time, have breaks etc and that might help you perform to the best of your ability. You could also talk to your doctor about interventions for your panic attacks, if you haven't already.

There is a specific board on ATARNotes if you need help with VCE Biology!
Good luck!
