hey can some1 help in how to learn this chapter is sooooooo hard. is there a way to remember the IV and DV

it's not hard :S it's just the IV is the variable you are controlling & manipulating, and the DV is the variable that depends on what the IV is.
for example: an experiment testing recall and recognition as measures of retention. so the IV would be either using recall or recognition, and the DV would the no. of correct words answered on a test.

Variation in the IV alters the DV. I.E. Age alters reading ability - reading ability does not alter age. So the IV is age; the DV reading ability

Easiest to remember it that way, I think.
