Melbourne has had an absolute ride with the umpiring today
Meh, happens with most teams at some point. Umpiring is very inconsistent across the board.

Exhibit A: NM v. Port game y'day.

Yeah, but when I'm shaking my head on behalf of Essendon supporters, it's particularly bad. You're right, though; I'm sure Melbourne will cop it in return at some point.

Anyway, yeah - glad we pulled it together in the second half at least.

Collingwood v Richmond was a cracker of a match, although umpiring was a bit shocking both ways. How Cotchin didn’t get done for pushing Treolar into the ground in front of the umpire being Exhibit A.

Still a lot of good signs for Collingwood. No forward depth, but their back line held up really well and their mid field is fucking elite. They forced us to win at our best today and only really lost it when they ran out of steam.

I was at the game yesterday and was really pleased with how we went. I don't think the final score was a good representation of how competitive the game was. We just seemed to run out of legs in the last quarter. Had two on the bench + the four day break.

Yep we don't have any forwards that will consistently kick at least 2-3 goals per game. Need a big forward like that. I also think we need one more really elite midfielder that can use the ball well. The amount of times we turned it over in the middle plus in the forward 50 was crazy. Daniel Wells would fit in well but I don't really want to include someone that's going to play 7-8 games per season into our plans for the future.

We took a break for the first time in the whole game in that 4-5 minute mark of the fourth quarter, and you guys kicked 4 goals in 4 minutes. That kinda sealed it and showed us if you want to beat a decent team you cannot afford to rest for a single minute.

I actually missed the match tonight as I was out but from the sounds of it, it was great and close! I'll have to catch up on the replay when it pops up.

Bit disappointed with Benny Brown only kicking 1 goal, not usually like him to miss a few. Wood on fire (that could've been structured better)

NM, Cats.

Having Dud Wells in your team is going to slow you down.

realistically i think the tigers are gonna demolish us but you know.. anything's possible. we've proven all the haters wrong already so anything else is a bonus

In terms of my tipping this week, this provides a great snapshot.. I got 8/9 last week:

God I hope if we're gonna do that, that we do it in the first quarter rather than fucking around for three quarters and then blasting away. Can't handle the nerves for another week.

I reckon we'll give you a run for your money, that's for sure. Proof v Syd, v Haw.. need a good scalp and Richmond will certainly do it.

It must be tough being a Richmond supporter at the moment. ;)
