Umm. Maybe for Methods of Physics it couldn't hurt but cmon... Legal?
As if the people on this forum couldn't substitute for the lectures you have enrolled for.
Your text book is your bible in Legal. You don't need it imo.

I personally don't like TSSM. Compared to TSFX and NEAP, they're quite basic.

I'm going to NEAP's Specialist Lecture in Jan lolz. Is anyone else coming along?

^ Might be wise to invest in a lecture/session for English as well, especially considering you want 38+ raw. :P

Worth ... are you getting a lot for your dollar... well no. Not yet. If this summer school adds a few points to your agg. and gets you over the line to do medicine then yes, you could say it does help. I'd recommend giving the summer school a shot if money isn't a problem.

I reckon summer schools are not as effective as say, revision lectures before mid year and end of year exams. The latter gives you confidence (well, it should) that you know at least all the basic things in the course and you can follow it easier whereas in summer school you might easily get lost. Just what I think. (Haven't actually been to summer school because they're so expensive!)

Yeah I agree completely. Summer schools, dont go.

Go to the revision lectures, their probably much better to spend the money on.  that way you'll know if your school has missed out on big chunks of information.   TSFX the Asian 5s are 135 bucks. Thats like 5 tutoring sessions you can get to target your weakpoints.

But I suppose its up to you, its not like they will hurt, unless going to them means you don't do other things e.g go to the end of semester revision lectures.

TSSM for accounting and english were ACE, at least for me =)

Even though I didn't score perfect scores, they were still VERY helpful for me, I did English for Unit 3 only, but Accounting for Unit 3 & 4.

The English was OVERKILL - if you follow the material and practice it, you are likely to do well. I was aiming for 30 in English but achieved a 38 (Only got three A's), really helped, like seriously.

As for accounting, Jim Economo is a passionate accounting teacher (teaches at MacRob.), even though I achieved a 46, I understood the true nature and essence of accounting - real life applications, not just number crunching or theory rote learning...

Only reason I went to these (and methods lol to get over 25, -> got 33  =) bumped up to 39!!) was because I felt my teachers at school weren't very passionate about teaching - probably explains why our school doesn't compare to the Elite schools out there, dux was an ENTER of 95.45 =X
I believe life is constantly testing us for our level of commitment and life's greatest rewards are reserved for those who show a never-ending commitment to act until they achieve. This level of resolve can move mountains, but it must be constant and consistent. As simplistic as this may sound, this is still the common denominator that separates those who live their dreams to those who live in regret.

I don't, I was purely 'mucking around' because of how you spelt words in your initial post.

i myself never attended any summer schools and only attended three lectures throughout the year - (and they were the free Victoria University lectures). IMO, if you want to do well and have the capability to do well, no summer school or revision lecture will change that and I think many here will testify to that. It is not money that helps you succeed in Year 12 - it is hard work, perseverance and a determination to do well (and many other things of course - but in the scope of this subject, these are enough).

Very idealistic, but it's not necessarily hard work that wins the game. It is effective work that does, and whether summer schools offer this is completely unknown to me. Although money (alone) does not help you, the services you can buy with it may help you.

yer i got to agree with ^coblin here i mean see it this way, someone pays x amount of money to attend a lecture about how to do well in a certain subject. Another student who hasn't attended that lecutre 'may' not know some of the skills taught in this lecture therfore giving the other student a good upper hand. Well that's just how i see it. Unless your a genius :D

ITS YOU THAT DETERMINES YOUR FUTURE NOT SOME SCHOOL YOU PAY TO GET U THERE.

It is certainly your responsibility, but whether you choose to pay someone who could help you achieve it is a different story.
