What makes you think the Rudd-Gillard dynamic merits a federal election...?

It's really not that hard to quantify..., but I believe that being raped once is not as bad as being raped five times, even if the one rape was by a gang of people.

Anyone else reckon this was a cheeky move by Rudd to actually gain the prime minister-ship? I'm just going off what he said in his little press conference thingo. Kind of sounds like he's making a cheeky move here - to me anyway.

Definitely. He knows he can't challenge Gillard directly so now he's playing the sympathy card.

It won't work in his favour though.

Why can't we just have an election and get things sorted?  :-\
Tony Abbot? Please no. That's what it would currently result in.

I have $10 on with another admin that Rudd will lead the ALP into the next federal election, no matter the outcome on Monday.

I wonder what I'll spend it on...

You know what would be good?  Rudd ends up Prime Minister through another party, and then offers Gillard a position as Foreign Minister.

PENNY WONG FOR PM

Out of curiosity, can someone in the Senate become PM?

lol, that would actually be nearly as bad as Abbott leading Australia imo. It would never happen (hopefully both will never happen).

I believe Westminster convention (?) dictates that the PM is a member of the lower house. But it's only a "convention".
