I've been using the MedEntry's LMS (its online resources that are marked instantly for feedback), read every guide and doing a fair bit of the Eureka Question banks. My thoughts (if they help you or anyone else):

- I found many spelling and grammatical errors. Although this doesn't affect the quality of the content they provide, it kind of irks me that I paid so much money and they can't even fix a few spelling errors here and there over so many years.

- The Eureka Question bank, despite it's "Thousands of questions!" description, certainly does not have thousands of questions; not even close. I'd had many repeats of the questions, especially during Section 1 and 2. Maybe I'm just unlucky and there are still some that pop up, but I wish that they would implement a system where they keep track of what drills I've done and not repeat them unless I wish for them to (like an option I can reset it or something).

- The amount of drills (organized questions that help you in the UMAT more) is pretty nice. So are the 10 practice exams they offer. I still haven't done any of these but I'll look forward to doing them soon.

- The percentiles they offer (in relation to other people taking the MedEntry) is also pretty nice to give you an indication of your current position. Of course, people shouldn't take this to heart because there are many factors different from MedEntry stuff to the ACER's UMAT.

I ordered the package with the UMAT Workshop but I don't think that's worth the extra one and half hundred dollars (not sure exactly how much). I still think this whole thing is overpriced but it is a very useful resource. My dad, luckily for me, is not bothered that much by the financial disadvantages with the MedEntry course but that doesn't hold true for others (e.g. you).

That is utterly ridiclous.

From what I recall, Eureka doesn't refer to the question bank. Eureka is a program on the LMS which automatically generates section 3 problems. Go have a look for it; should be on the menu somewhere. The thousands thing is a bit misleading since it can just generate the same pattern with a star instead of a circle or something, but it's good enough. Still, the quality of the material in the drills is far better and finishing all the drills and all the practice exams is already a big enough of a task for most so Eureka is pretty much overkill. Not sure what you mean about repeating drills. Don't they leave a score next to the ones you've already completed? It's been a while so things may have changed or I might've just forgotten some stuff though.

Just following from this, some of the MedEntry questions from the question banks have their formats completely wrong. For example, a section one question involving like 5 long paragraphs, the format that MedEntry left it as has like 4 lines of blank spacing between the paragraphs. Answering those questions, flipping back from the question stimulus and the actual text is annoying like hell. Again, content-wise still fine but it's not like I have to adjust my annoyance because I have rights as a consumer of their product?

Oh yeah, and one question from the section 1 had the whole text missing and only provided the questions for it. I was astounded, but whatever.

"MedEntry's exclusive Eureka! program provides access to a bank of thousands of questions for students.

Eureka is a great way to get started with preparation for the exam - practising on individual questions with instant feedback before moving onto our Drills and Practice Exam sections."

That's what the description says for the "Eureka Question Bank" so I'm not really sure what you're referring to. : / Maybe you mean the Extra Skills Development?

I'm not sure about the scores on the drills; I haven't done them yet (I really should). As for the practice exams, I know they give a MedEntry percentile once you've done it but again, haven't done one yet. I'm somewhat a saver of stuff like this, a habit I really need to get rid of. :p

For all my rants about MedEntry, I reiterate that the content they provide is quite diverse and pretty good in general. It's just the small stuff that annoys me despite the money my parents payed.

Oh looks like they extended Eureka to include Sec 1 and 2 then. Wonder how that's working out...

Your relatives arent really supportive!! >:( Do well in the UMAT and VCE then rub it in all their faces (particularly Aunty 1 and Uncle 1) :knuppel2: They seem so annoying. My relatives don't put me and my siblings down but rather try to show off what their kids got. But lucky for me, everyone finished schooling so none of them really care about VCE now; now its more about jobs and earnings.  :D

I myself am not going to do medentry even though my cousin did recommend it since, like you, I have found so many resources online. (That is unless my dad suddenly comes home and tells me that he got me a medentry package.) I know many people have done well without medentry. Let us show the power of online resources  ;D. (You are probably going to do better than me though because of that motivation to beat your cousins)  :P
