Is the JCU MBBS course different to other courses?

Howdy,

The James Cook University website has their MBBS course as having a "emphasis on tropical medicine". Does such an emphasis affect any other parts of the medical education at JCU? Also, would it have any effect on job opportunities in non-tropical areas?

Forgive me if anything has a blatantly obvious answer, I was just curious as to what the difference was between the JCU course and the MBBS course at say, Monash or UNSW.

Cheers,
Jaidyn
