Hi, im doing a practice essay for an exam and I need a literary technique or any technique for these quotes...
"The realtionship with yourself sets the tone for every other realtionship you have"
and
" Why do you wear pajamas all day?" -Bruno "The soliders took all our cloths away" ~ Boy in the striped pajamas

Is there anything that is obvious that I can use?

For the first quote, maybe pathos? Or emotive language.
Second quote, I'm leaning towards metonymy for the clothes as symbolism for the loss of identity of human nature.

the pajamas couls be symbolic of his dehumanization, hence taking it away indicates that hes lost all of his identity. the first one could be using second person language in order to will the reader to condiser their own human relayionships?? not sure about that one though .

good luck! :)
