Hey guys,
So i was wonderring if anybody could identify a technique in the line
"She hated the smell of the harbour and often wondered if she smelt of it after all these years"
Its sounds like it should be something but i can't pinpoint it - and i've already used connotations in the paragraph this is intended for so.....
Help
Its from Distant Lands btw which is a super easy 4 page text if you need a related text for discovery
Thankyou  ;D

I don't know the text but I guess there's kind of repetition of the word smell and if the description extends any further it could be classified as sensory imagery. Depending on the context of this quote, the smell of the harbour could be representative of something else she hates.

Olfactory imagery perhaps?

You could say synesthesia - blend of visual and olfactory imagery

It can be emotive language 'hated,' sensory imagery or olfactory imagery as others have said.
