I don't understand how the respect system works and i've heard something about karma. Could someone please explain?

See the up and down arrows to the left of the quote button? Well think of this as a "like" and "dislike" button, the more like you get in a post the more respect you get. However you need a minimum of 3 likes to start gaining respect points from that post. atm its only there to make you feel good
