Need help with some English. English context sac tomorrow!

YO, wassup guys. I have a context sac tomorrow on conflict and I'm really stuck on ideas and stuff.

The prompt is 'Why conflict occurs is less important than how it affects people'. I feel like the prompt is really badly worded.

The texts I have to mention is the Secret River by Kate Grenville. HELP PLOx

'(Understanding) The causes of conflict is not as significant as its consequences.' Try mentally re-wording it to something like that. This question is essentially the same to that of the 2009 English/ESL Exam for conflict.
