What are Modules???

Hey,
I was wondering what these modules are?
As far as I am aware they are like the topics you do, however I don't know if you chose them yourself or if your school does this for you?

The school chooses which 3 modules you will do in class time and on your SACs throughout the year. Then when it comes to the exam you get 6 or so sections, each on a different module, and you choose the sections you will answer based on what modules you did in class.

You can however choose to answer any of the modules on the exam, if you aren't particularly strong at the ones you learnt in class, or if you think you will go better in others. This of course means that you have to study these modules outside of class time. Either way you need to answer the CORE section of both exams, as well as 3 of the modules.

jackinthepatch, is this also for methods CAS.. ? so you have to learn the modules your not taught at school elsewhere?

No, all other maths subjects are just like a regular course . ie. you don't get to choose anything, everyone in the state does the same thing.

You only need to learn three of the six modules. You do not have to learn all six since you only need to answer three modules in the exams. Generally, these are the ones you have learned in class this year. But, if you see a module on the exam paper that you think you could answer better than any of those you learned in class this year (maybe because you covered the topics in some sort of maths class last year), there is nothing to stop you from answering that module instead.
As long as you answer all questions on the Core and ANY three modules in eah exam, you will have done what is needed.
