An exam in a lecture theatre? That'd be so uncomfortable! How long was it? Which theatre?

Yeah, it was in a lecture theatre. Very dodgy place to have an exam.

Haha no worries. And that is ridiculous! The tables there are tiny and about as old as the building itself! And the seat space is miniscule.

That is ridiculous. Using a ruler and a calculator and whatever else would be a nightmare.

I had a Roman History exam in a lecture theatre last year. No idea what the subject coordinators were thinking.

Also wish my exams would hurry up already. My first one is on the 17th and the last one on the 1st of July. I'm so glad that La Trobe are finally ditching 13 week semesters next year.

Yeah and you could read people's exam papers in front of you if you wanted to because some lecture theatres were tiered.
I always sat in the back to prevent any potential cheating from the person behind me haha.
The exams are not at allll as stringent - you can have all of your stuff with you and they barely patrol.
One of my exams I was in a lecture theatre cramped so close to the people next to me, and I brought coffee (from Starbucks) and it was fine except I couldn't fit it on the desk.  But yeah you were pretty much touching other people and right in the side of the lecture theatre nobody can walk past you - you have your phone, your notes, everything with you.
I'm sure if you got caught cheating you would have some serious academic probation to answer to but it would be relatively easy to do so discretely I feel, for some of my subjects with a larger cohort (100 people say).
Other ones were like 10 people, couldn't cheat in that haha, but for the final for eg. my lecturer just went on Facebook on his computer the whole time and had conversations with people after they handed their paper to him before the exam was over haha.  So informal!
I didn't think they would allow something so informal at Melbourne Uni though.

Wow MJRomeo the 1st of July!  That's so late /:
Latrobe 13 week semesters are actually stupid - there's no reason for them.  Is that the last day of the exam period or is there even more after that!?

The worst part for me is the lack of room. You can't even get comfortable taking notes by hand in a lecture theatre. Yet they expect students to sit an exam in such a small space.

And the lecture theatre I had my exam in was tiered. I could almost feel the person behind me breathing down my neck.

La Trobe's exam period ends on Thursday 4 July :S
