Hi Babushka,
I'm also thinking of doing Bachelor of Radiology but I'm not sure whether to choose Monash or RMIT. Could you give me a run down of what the course is like at Monash? What's the vibe like? Do you like it there?
Thanks!
Hey! So a few days ago I actually drafted like a 1000 word response and I was going to proofread it and rip I lost it all, so tbh been a little frustrated and not motivated to rewrite the whole thing when I don't remember it, but once my hectic period is over I will definitely do this, I feel so bad how long you must be waiting for this response! Hope you're doing okay, and I hope to get that response up over the weekend
Haven't posted an update in a long time so this is just going to be a review of my past fortnight.

Had my heart dissection in anatomy lab which was actually so good, learnt heaps about the heart anatomy and it's helped a lot with chest x-ray radiographic anatomy.
Had lab in the afternoon which was actually alright, feeling a little more comfortable in the lab now, though practice will only come from placement which I'm getting a little intimidated about.

Dosimetry test today. Worst run assessment I think I've ever seen in my life. Walk into the room, lecturer's not there, had some practice questions to review at the same time as doing the assessment, attendance wasn't taken, five people at a table sitting next to each other, people discussing the questions with each other, people showing each other their papers, open book, general bullshit. Still, not a hurdle and worth 2.5% so not too stressed, it was worth like 10 marks and I shouldn't fall below 7 or 8.

Bio unit presentations started on this date, which wasn't mine, so we were marking the other presentations. Some really good stuff going around, definitely learnt a fair bit from these. 8am starts for a presentation is never fun so my lecturer brought in chips and lollies
My 2pm tute got cancelled, my 12pm lecturer apparently didn't show up and my 1pm was destined to be useless anyway, so I went shopping with a friend after my day finished at 9.30 in the morning

Had two lectures from 9-11, then caught up with my partner for my bio presentation to go over the content of our poster, then went shopping in the afternoon with my sister. Been fairly motivated this week so it was nice to get out and have a nice day and still come home and get some more work done for our presentation.

Tuesdays are always hectic and this was no different. 9am lecture on pathology, nearly fell asleep I can never concentrate in pathology
Last anatomy lab for the semester, which is a shame because I learn so much in these, but it was so good. On the anatomy of the respiratory system, and learning how to identify lungs and heart grooves and observe dissections of wet specimen thorax was so beneficial, probably the most educational lab I've had this semester!
Lumbosacral spine and lateral thoracic in lab, generally getting the hang of it which is nice. Have a reasonably old guy for one of my positioning stations and he usually does his model palpations on the only guy in my group but needed to investigate the curvature of the female figure... being felt up the waist and hips by an old guy you don't know is not a particularly pleasant experience but there it is
Had a long day so didn't get much done in the evening, worked a bit on my poster though.

Short easy day today, path tute at 9 which was one of the easier ones on diabetes. Clinical tutorial at 10 which I really wasn't feeling so kind of relaxed, but it was generally relaxed since my lecturer has just returned from a few weeks away for grievance. Caught up with my partner again for my presentation, then had another tute at 1.
Had a doctor's appointment so didn't get home til 4.30, then had a nap by accident.. Had to get my poster printed and meant to email it to my partner but didn't get it to her til 8 so we had a lot of drama cos a lot of places wouldn't print it on time, so my mother bless her saved the day <3

Had an early day, left at 7 with my mum to get our poster printed, which bless we found a place that would do it by 2pm today which was amazing. Got to uni by 8.30, didn't have class til 11, so caught up with my partner to divide up the presentation, worked on my wiki presentation from 9 since I'd neglected that for my poster presentation (which is worth six times as much). Had image analysis tutorial on lumbosacral, making some good progress with that which is great. Had a double lecture series on respiratory physiology, but I missed the first part as I was walking my friend on crutches back to her room and missed half of it, so I went to play with the monash puppies instead
good investment, made my day. Second part physiology was actually pretty good, lecturer has a great accent and actually teaches in a way that is hard not to understand which is awesome. At the moment just fixing up my Wiki for my group presentation tomorrow afternoon, and preparing my notes for my partner presentation tomorrow morning. Hope it all goes okay
Hope everyone's Friday is delightful tomorrow <3
