you know, I have heard that schedules of reinforcement aren't on the study design anymore.
but that could be wrong.

i might leave vcenotes for the night and hit some sleep. but i am checking that out tomorrow morning... that would make me so happy. the confusion of it is pretty frustrating and it's one of the main things i tend to slip up on in MC.

Lol its on the course.

And i strongly think this year they will ask questions bout it.
both in the MC and one in the SA.

they might ask something like .....

How could you use different schedules of reinforcement to train a dog to fetch?.

or ....
explain which partial schedule of reinforcement brings about the fastest acquisition , and which partial schedule of reinforcement is least likely to be extinguished.

Now I think if that question came up ... maybe 10% of the state would get FULL marks.

"at least 5" is the requirement for reinforcement, it's quite unrelated to the schedule used. Scott needs 5 or more A's for reinforcement, but that's not really what's in question here, he gets reinforced every time he meets his requirement for reinforcement. you're only reinforced for performing the behaviour that will initiate that consequence in operant conditioning, and whatever your requirement is, whether it was "get 10 A's" or "get at least 5", the variability of what you have to do doesn't matter. he's reinforced every time he meets his prerequisite... that's what swayed me doing this question anyway

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought. If the target behaviour was getting 5 or more A's each time, it has to be continuous reinforcement, surely?

I think the NEAP guys were assuming that the progress report would only have one A at a time - then the question would make sense.

In that case, wouldn't it be fixed ratio? as in, he's reinforced after 5 successful completions of the behaviour?

at least 5, so he could be reinforced after 6 As, then 7 As and then 5 As
