The point of the exams are to distinguish between students based on their knowledge and abilities haha, from the lowest to highest sequentially. As such, 'easy' questions will ALWAYS exist. But be warned. While there are some easy ones, other questions can be quite tricky and convoluted. Try your best, keep your head down and don't get complacent when dealing with biology. It isn't as easy to score in as people think. While the actual questions themselves are relatively straight forward, VCAA biology assessors are notorious for being the most pedantic of markers and having very high demands of students in SAQs

Yes. I've seen a few questions which involve drawing a stimulus-response model and identifying the negative feedback loop.

In the NOB textbook when discussing the variations in populations it classifies them into the following groups
1.) Structural
2.) Behavioural
3.) Biochemical
4.) Developmental
5.) Physiological
6.) Geographic

Does that mean these are the  strictly the only 6 there are? Or there could be other classifications of variations as well?
Also could some types of variations belong in two different groups not just one?

A couple of things I am clueless and struggle with are neurones and negative/positive feedback loops.

You'll find questions asking for this in past exams, but since they've taken homeostasis out of the study design, you shouldn't be asked that anymore :)

I still lost quite a few half marks :P

Be as specific as you possibly can. Use the word "specific" as much as you can as well. Relate your answer back to the scenario wherever possible. This sort of stuff is pretty general but yeah

1.) Structural
2.) Behavioural
3.) Biochemical
4.) Developmental
5.) Physiological
6.) Geographic

Nah, there would be other categories as well, and it'd be possible for a particular example to fall into more than one of those groups

A couple of things I am clueless and struggle with are neurones and negative/positive feedback loops.

Good thing feedback systems won't come up then ;)

Hi Scooby,

I was wondering how many marks you dropped through sacs and the exams while still being able to get 50?

Didn't lose any for my SACs (well, after moderation ahaha). Lost 4.5 marks on the midyear and 2.5 marks on the end-of-year iirc
