Haha they are the best so far that's for sure. But my teacher doesn't know what she's doing and after an hour or so of looking up what to do I am confident I know more than her.
It's also annoying because we can't get a student's version of M$ Access 07 at home (I'm searching :P) but everyone at school in my class chose it because it's easy. It makes me sad :( Am I the only person who loves IT? D:

Not sure how it would go with getting the programs but I think it'd be far more productive than my current class. It's just waiting for people to input data into a form -.-
Or change their database form's colours. *slowclap*
We are seriously doing nothing on the course content in class so I think you'd be fine for the theory side of it.

Sorry to hear :(

But as you pointed out, self learning is the key in this subject. In terms of relational databases, make sure you understand the following concepts:

- Primary & Foreign keys
- Referential Integrity rules
- Normalisation (VERY important)
- Relationships (1-1, 1 to many, many to many)

If you are keen to learn more about databases (beyond the scope of this subject), do a little research on:

- SQL
- Relational Algebra
- Enhanced Entity Relationship Modelling
- Transactions
- Query optimisation

If you're picking subjects, then have a think about doing Software Development over IT Apps too. Unless you really don't like programming at all, I'd recommend SD.

If I recall correctly, there were a couple of people on this site last year that had some complaints with DECV and how they ran their IT subject (but still did well nonetheless), but it seems kezzab had a pretty good experience with them. That might be something to consider/look into, but both of the VCE IT subjects are ones that can be self learnt easily anyway.

So, I got my ITA mark back today for my SAC. Got a Very High :D
We don't get much information, or to look at them so it's not very useful but there was only one other person in my class who got a Very High and I'm confident I would have beaten him in the theory components.

Hey guys, looks like I'm a bit late but I do both ITA and Software this year.

I'm good with Apps but I hate Software and I always get bad scores in it even though they've both got similar content :/

I need help studying for the Software exams!
