What's the main difference between this course and something like Commerce with an accounting major?

Nothing, at least in first-year. In first-year BBus, you take AFF1000: Principles of accounting and finance, BTF1010: Commercial law, ECF1100: Microeconomics, ETX1100: Business statistics, MGF1010: Introduction to management and MKF1120: Marketing theory and practice as your units - regardless of your major. Plus, an additional two units. It's the same in BComm at Clayton, just with different unit codes/names. Having said that, there are slight variations in the material which is covered in BBus with that of BComm. This thread may help answer your questions: Bachelor of Business (BBus) at Monash University. You also might want to compare the course progression maps for the two courses: BBus (Acc) and BComm (Acc&F).
