he lacks finesse.
i agree, Nadal comes out onto the court with brute force and pretty much hits every one off the court.
So shattered for Federer :(
IMO, Feds should've won that first set!
6 break points in the 3rd aswell :(

Credit to Nadal for gutsing that match out though.

i thought it was a real good match and nadal definitley deserved to win.
as much as i like federer, i really wish he didnt cry, like i understand his frustration with his performance etc, but hes lucky hes got to win it like what 3 times?
it was nadals time to shine, his first aus open title, and i felt that fed just took some of that away from nadals special moment.
i love both players though, and its great to see that despite being eachothers biggest rival, they still get along like very good mates.
man i love the tennis, esp. aus open, im sad its all over! :(

GO Nadal, I felt so sorry for federer when he started to cry. I actually want him to win the next open now.

That was a great Win by Nadal seeming that he had played 5hrs 14mins two days ago.

Federer is still a Champion, Greatest of All Time, it doesn't matter how many Grand Slams he wins. But I myself hope he wins more than Sampras. No one will know how Federer really felt;reason behind it, at the end except himself.

Yeh i agree with you there, It definitely looked like it spoilt Nadal's turn in the spotlight. It made it hard for Nadal to feel elated because his opponent was crying.

he lacks finesse.

doesn't mean he's not entertaining.

he lacks finesse.

ofcourse nadal's gonna smash any player who isn't good enough (and he probably does it intentionally as it makes no sense to lengthen a match) but when it comes to matches with federer and the like he spends a lot of the time running around defending whilst waiting for the right opportunity to strike. that's why you see him continuously returning balls that would pretty much be impossible for any other player.
imo the description you've given there applies more to someone like roddick or safin and not nadal.

Is their Intelligence vs Power matching comparable to that of McEnroe vs Becker?

Yeh thats a good comparison. Although, mcenroe had a bigger serve.

Nadal has an advantage over Federer because each year he has roland garros in the bag whereas Federer has to fight for every championship event to even win. Nadal is also mentally stronger (as you can see after the australian open). I think this year is Nadal FTW
