Hey guys,
I'm hoping there's a dent student that can help me out! Starting first year dentistry this year and we've just been emailed the booklist which contains 17 texts that they recommend we purchase. Can anyone tell me which are the actual useful books to get? I can post up the list if need be :)

Thanks!

Does the list make a distinction between prescribed texts and recommended?

Will do!

Well yes, they're are 8 "prescribed texts" and 9 "recommended", but from what I've heard about uni textbooks, a lot of the time you don't ended up using/needing most of the books, even those that they "prescribe" :P Just wondering if maybe there are particular textbooks which are used a lot and hence you should buy, and others which are rarely needed that you can just borrow from the library if need be.

Hey,

the books I would recommend purchasing for 1st year are:

Anatomy of Orofacial Structures
Textbook of Head and Neck anatomy
Fundamentals of Periodontal Instrumentation

Other books that may be useful in latter years are:
Contemporary Orthodontics
Fundamentals of Operative Dentistry (this one is important for year 2)
Dental Radiography- Principles and Techniques (good for year 2 and beyond)
Master of Dentistry, Latrobe University 2011 ATAR: 99.75
ATARnotes Accounting Unit 3&4 Study Guide Author
