You get used to it. The motivation that keeps me going is, there's only one way I can go.. up. Moving soon.

Really funny too, I live less than 15km from the CBD and still get that.

I live right on the exchange boundary. So the dist from house to exchange is around 2km. That on ADSL2+ in a severely built up area. Picture perfect conditions.

No congestion + partial/full fibre = recipe for success. Congestion is the cause for most speed issues, in addition to outdated old copper infrastructure and other factors such as distance from the service exchange and any interference. I got a nbn notice in the mail that 'inspection works' would be carried out soon to get my sub-par HFC (essentially a mix of old outdated copper and fibre)...... so I assume if I stay here i'll get nbn in about 10 years provided the same govt stays in power until then. :) Even my old holiday house down the surf coast used to get faster speeds and that too was ADSL2+.

When I finally did a maths question without looking at my notes or the answers, for a topic I've been struggling with for ages. It wasn't even a particularly hard question, but I just sat at my desk grinning to myself. Best feeling!
